A special, limited-engagement theatrical preview event for Stranger Things: Tales From '85 took place at select AMC Theatres nationwide, the Paris Theater in New York, and Netflix House Philadelphia in April, 2026. Fans watched the first two episodes of the animated series on the big screen days before its global debut. Fans were treated to a special photo-op area and received exclusive collectible giveaways upon entering.

THE PROJECT
Ahead of the release of Netflix's new Stranger Things animated spin-off series, Stranger Things: Tales From '85, I was given the opportunity to design several exclusive photo-op backdrops, with a custom 3D backdrop for AMC Century City in Los Angeles. I was also tasked with creating a selection of limited edition collectible items including trading cards, pins, stickers, fanny packs, and other collateral keepsakes like novelty screening tickets.

THE APPROACH
Working with Netflix, the approach was to work within the world that the animators of the show created, and translate that into real-world elements that fans could interact with. We spent a lot of time exploring how best to use all of the show's distinct animation styles and artwork to create as expansive of an experience as we could.

THE GOAL
To construct a visually engaging and interactive environment for young and old Stranger Things fans to enjoy, endearing them to this new generation of Stranger Things characters and storylines. Additionally to design a unique set of exclusive collectible items that die-hard Stranger Things fans would be eager to own.
